PHASE 1 of the project is complete.
PHASE 2 – Fern Street - will be completed in May of 2026.
Douglas-Kerr Underground (DKU) is the Contractor for this project.
The project was split into two phases to help minimize the disruption period for the area.
- COMPLETED - Phase 1 was the south end of Main St and 40th Ave.
- Phase 2 will be the portion of Main Street between 24th Avenue and Central Drive and Fern Street neighborhood, along with 25th Avenue SW.
Planned Work in May 2026
Phase 2 Area (Fern St and Central Ave between Main St and Fern St):
- The new curb and pavement will be placed in the spring.
- The boulevards and driveways will then be restored and all disturbed areas seeded.
- ECE will be installing new streetlights once the new curbing is installed.
Access: In general, the Contractor will provide access to all properties during construction. When pipe and curb installation is done directly in front of a property, then driveway access will not be possible. The Contractor will provide advance notice of this, and temporary parking arrangements will be reviewed.
