City Code and Ordinances
The City of Cambridge has adopted ordinances (local laws) that govern a wide variety of activities within the City. These ordinances are collected and published by topics into a City Code Book.
Title I General Provisions
Defines how the council, boards, commissions, fire service, emergency mangement are to be structured. It also covers finances and taxation and enforcement of administrative offenses.
Title III Administration
Defines how the council, boards, commissions, fire service, emergency management are to be structured. It also covers finances and taxation and enforcement of administrative offenses.
Title IX General Regulations
Covers fire prevention, alarms, nuisances, trees, streets, sidewalks, animals, building regulations, housing code, and regulations for city parks and parklands.
Title V Public Works
Deals with the area of water, sewer, work in the right of way, and garbage/refuse.
Title VII Traffic
Governs traffic regulations, parking, snowmobiles/ATVs, and street restrictions.
Title XI Business Regulations
Addresses general business licensing, general business regulations, peddlers and solicitors, alcoholic beverages (liquor licensing), tobacco regulations (licensing), pawnbrokers, and adult establishments.
Title XIII General Offenses
Sets offenses against public order such as disorderly conduct, loitering, public nudity prohibited, social host, synthetic cannabinoid prohibition, discharge of firearms, animal abuse, etc.
Title XV Land Usage
Governs zoning, shoreland management, storm water management, flood damage prevention, and Scenic Rum River issues
